Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to what software sales leaders ask before working with us.
Fractional Sales Enablement
What is fractional sales enablement?
A senior sales enablement leader who builds your onboarding, playbooks, and methodology adoption plan on a part-time retainer, for a fraction of the cost of a full-time hire. It fits Series A and B software companies hiring reps faster than they can ramp them. Read the full guide.
What size company is this for?
Series A and B software companies, roughly $5M to $50M ARR, hiring AEs and SDRs but without a full-time enablement leader.
What do you actually build?
Three systems. The Ramp Engine: milestone-based onboarding that certifies skills before reps work live leads. The Source of Truth: a living playbook built from what your top reps do. Methodology adoption: the executive alignment, manager coaching cadence, and field checkpoints that make your sales methodology the way you sell.
How is this priced?
A monthly retainer scoped to your stage and goals. Most engagements run six to twelve months, then either continue on a lighter retainer or hand a working system to your first full-time enablement hire. Book a call and we will scope it together.
How fast can we see impact?
The first onboarding or playbook improvements usually ship within the first few weeks. Adoption work starts with an executive alignment session in the first two weeks, and you should see the difference in deal reviews within a quarter.
Fractional sales enablement vs a full-time hire?
A full-time enablement leader is $180K+ all in and takes months to find and onboard. A fractional leader gives you senior-level systems now, at a fraction of the cost, with no ramp of their own. If you are planning another large hiring wave right after this one, a full-time hire makes sense sooner, and the systems Matt builds are what that person inherits.
Methodology Adoption
What is the difference between learning a sales methodology and adopting it?
Learning is the training event: the team can describe the framework. Adopting is when managers coach to it, reps run it in live deals, and the pipeline data reflects it. Most methodology rollouts stop at learning. Matt's work is the adoption side: executive alignment, a change-management plan with owners and dates, a manager coaching cadence, and field checkpoints.
Do you replace our sales methodology?
No. If you have already invested in MEDDICC, Command of the Message®, or another framework, the work is making it stick. If you have not, we build the playbook around the motion that fits your deal size and sales cycle.
Can a Series A company get the same adoption work?
Yes. The scale is smaller and the retainer is scoped to it, but the discipline is the same: agree on what changes, give managers a coaching cadence, and inspect the behavior in deal reviews until it is the default.
Working With Sales Boost Consulting
Do you work remotely?
Yes. Nearly all engagements run remotely, with software sales teams anywhere in the world. On-site kickoffs, sales kickoffs, and workshops are available when they help; Matt has led sessions across North America and EMEA.
How does AI fit in?
AI is built into the onboarding and the playbook rather than sold as a separate program: account research, call prep, follow-up drafting, and role-play against realistic objections. Reps get the workflows inside the systems they already use, and managers get a way to inspect the output.
What happens on a discovery call?
Thirty minutes, no pitch deck. We pinpoint where your ramp and pipeline are leaking, tell you exactly which system we would build first, and what it would take. If we are not the right fit, you will hear that too. Book a discovery call.
Where is Sales Boost Consulting based?
Portland, Oregon, working remotely with software companies worldwide. Founded and run by Matt Payne.
